Residential streets likely won't be cleared
Posted on Feb 2nd, 2010

The snow and ice that continues to cover much of Amarillo is doing little to cool tempers flaring over the state of city roads.

Last week's storm dumped 10 inches of snow in parts of the city, and while past storms resulted in snowfall that quickly melted, this most recent snow is still causing headaches at least four days later.

Many secondary streets remained difficult to navigate Monday; major travel routes were down to one lane, causing backups during rush hour; slush and ice continue to keep streets slick; and it's common to see vehicles stuck in the snow.
