TxDOT to expand Loop 335; lane closures expected through August

On Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to start the first phase of a more than $2 million project to improve southwest Loop 335, and it plans to close one lane in each direction from 45th aveneue to about Hillside Road. Those lanes are expected to remain closed through mid-August as TxDOT works to widen the loop by adding a center turn lane.
 
Vehicles still will have access to nearby businesses.
 
The project is expected to be completed by June 2011.
 
Motorists also should expect closures in both directions from Western Street to Hollywood Road for patching. There also will be closures on the Interstate 40 frontage roads from Arthur Street to Pullman Road for patching.
 
On northeast Loop 335, from Texas Highway 136 to I-40, and on southeast Loop 335, from Interstate 27 to I-40, there are planned lane closures for seal coat and patching work. And closures are planned for southeast Loop 335 in both directions from I-27 to I-40 for seal coat and patching work.
